Why offer and then not do?

:? So yesterday I posted that SD23 offered to help with dinner. When I got home at 7:15 last night all of the stuff that I had asked her (very nicely) to do was not completed and she was at school. She is also now not answering my texts messages. When I point this out to DH he is like "well I guess she got busy".

I swear that from now on I am just going to my room when they are all there. UGH

Sounds like a classic "passive-aggressive" maneuver to me. They will say "Yes, I'll do it" then they won't. They also have a million excuses why they couldn't or didn't do it.

So I heard from her today. She apologized and gave excuses, but at least I got a half hearted apology. Anyway, she offered to help again tonight, so we will see what happens. Her and BF can hang with DH in the living room, while I work on some much needed housework at the other end of the house. I am not going to hang out and entertain her as that will spoil my mood which has been in a much better place today.
