New Blog - Going to War with Your Stepkids - Part 1

It was around a year or so ago that I first ran desperate and crying to strangers on the internet about how utterly frustrating and difficult it was to be a stepmother. Thank God for all my online stepmother cohorts. Without them I would probably still be wallowing in confusion and guilt and misguided expectations.

Since then, however, I have had some time to think and learn and experiment with this horrible thing called step-mothering and I have learned a few things I would like to throw out there in hopes it might help someone else who feels alone and thinks they are helpless, or worse, to blame for the problems with their little step-minions... er... step-children.

Good blog....It is a hell, only another SM can understand. But, for me, no intention of making my SD like me...That ship sailed.

(I was actually considering showing OH but am in two minds LOL)

Funny though, about you doing this. I have been contemplating things lately, and have decided I am going back to study - finish my psych degree and specialise in step families as there is just NOT enough help out there. So many counsellors are NOT step family qualified.

I thought about blogging, I thought about writing a book about step hell, ALL the counsellors we have seen have had NO clue about the specific problems relating to blending and step.

So, I have spent the last few days looking into re-enrolling. Told OH about it last night....
