Skids leave Friday to spend July with BM for the first time ever. They haven't spent more than a week with her since the divorce over 5 years ago. Every other time they've spent a week with her she has melted down the next time they saw her because she can't handle the pressure.

DH is worried about their safety (as am I) since in the past she's threatened suicide to them, disowned them, pushed, etc. But, now they're older and are both bigger and stronger than she is. She also lives 2 blocks from the police station and the jail. We thought this time with her might "cure" them of thinking the grass is greener. Every time we've gotten involved legally in the past because of her behaviour, they resent us for it, even though she is the one that doesn't bother coming to court or going to court ordered therapy so she can see them more. They're almost 15 and 16 and at some point they're going to have to learn how to deal with her since she's never going to change.

She's a total Disney mom and hasn't paid for anything for them since the divorce (not even a haircut) She's ordered to pay $151/month in child support and is $8400 behind. But the pressure will be on since we go back to child support court on the 11th and with her new job she'll be on the hook for $450-$650 a month. She always starts acting crazy when we go to court (because she never gets her way) and her lawyer dumped her (for cussing him on the courthouse steps after "losing" the last time).

At any rate, I'm looking forward to having some quality time with DH, the last 6 months have been really hard on our marriage and we need to reconnect (and lots of hot sex never hurt anyone). But I think I should start a pool for how long they will actually be there, for when we get the first crying phone call.
