I have a "Blog Title" Question

Jon-Boy's picture

Do you find yourself attracted to certain types of blogs?

Like for example,
* Angry DRAMA blogs?
* Sad DRAMA blogs?
* Panic DRAMA blogs?
* Happy "shitin glitter blogs?

I find myself scanning the titles of blogs looking for something that interests me.
And when I find nothing there of any interest for me, I feel kinda bummed.
Which makes me remember a thing my life coach had said to me about 5 years ago.
She had asked if I thought I was addicted to drama? Pain misery in my life?

I first laughed and thought it was a ridiculous question.
But she just stared at me with a serious look on her face. Letting what she had said sink in a bit more.
I then thought about it seriously, How many times did I purposely walk into a situation, or create a situation not knowing it?
Was I so used to drama in my life that without it? maybe life kinda felt not involved enough?

Which made me ask more questions.
How many hours or days did I spend angry or hurt over something I could not change or should even think I could change?

Boy did my life take a different RE-DIRECTION...

Ouch.
I didn't mean to offend you if I did. I was not singling out anyone on here.
I have had my fair share of angry posts myself.
I was just throwing out the same very thought to ponder for other's on here, that I believe changed allot of drama I had in myself.
Learning how to not let something bother me.
Learning how to not directly get involved so deep with stuff that I could not control anyways.
I waisted allot of time dealing with my EX, dealing with the EX's new husband. And I learned from it.

Sure this is what the site is for. For venting.
There is nothing wrong with relating to "types" of posts.
But if someone recognizes an addictive behavior that may be linked to the things that you find yourself drawn to time and time again. It may bring an awareness that might lead to a little less crap in someones life.

I am no perfect person on here by no means, find a post on here about a pissed off parent at there SKID. And I light up like a roman candle. I loose it for some reason.
One, being a man in here, where it is mainly female dominated topics, any time I try and give advice I risk getting my head bitten off.
Or liek here in this post I did not even give advice.
I just ran a thought up the flag pole...

5 years ago I was introduced to this idea.
3 years ago I started to understand what I needed to be doing in my life to change things.
Right now I am just passing it fwd.

I try looking for blogs that pertain to my life situations. Young step daughter issues, BM issues, or if something just looks particulary enlightening or funny - I'm on it. The rest I don't even read some of the time. (sorry) I also try to respond if I think I can help in some way.

Ya know FithWheel42,
I was on this site on my lunch break at work and a guy I work with walked by and asked, "What is this your on...?
I said, Oh it's a step parent forum... And your post was one I was reading and he was LOL at your avatar.

He said that's awesome! Kids in a cage!
that's some funny stuff right there.

It IS cute, isn't it? But I promise, I LOVE my skids. But, I do have two adorable grandbabies, they're both girls, ages 3 and 2, and sometimes when I have them for the whole weekend, I would Love to put them in a cage, so I can REST! They wear me out!

Thanks for the comment!

Depends on my mood really & how much time I've got. There are a few people where I'll actively look to see if they've blogged. I have to say that I do love the positive ones, and I always try to respond to those as they tend to get less comments.

I guess when I first started posting it was about the blog name, if it had a catchy title, no matter what it was about, I read, or I read the one's that were shorter in length because normally when I'm on I'm trying to multi-task, not to mention I'm a pretty lazy reader, lol.

Now it's about the one's that I've put effort into their stories, now I like to keep up with them, regardless what they are or how long they are. If I've invested myself into your story, I have been following along to each of your posts. Sometimes I don't respond because I have moments where I completely draw a blank on what advice to give, not that I don't care or have empathy, but that I don't feel that what advice I could give would do justice to the situation at hand.

I tend to read those that seem to relate most to my situation, or to a situation I think I can help with. I know nothing about adult stepkids, so I tend not to read those blogs, unless the title is just so intriguing I can't help it! I'll also read some that are posted by specific people because I find those persons interesting, or funny, or insightful.

I tend to stay away from the stressful and angry ones. I absolutely will not read any that do not have paragraphs. As soon as I see the jumble of words, I close the screen

I will usually read and respond to blogs that I think I could add insight to from my own past experiences.
