I hate the way this makes me feel.......
BF daughter was gone Friday evening and Saturday at her friends house. She returned home Sunday. She slammed the door two times and called her dad stupid when he made her mad by asking her if she knew where her phone was. She opened the refrigerator 10 times in a 1.5 hr period, got a huge plate of food that she didn't eat more than two bites of, and talked incessantly ( and loudly) during the movie we were watching. Saying really meaningless things or things that made no sense all while rolling around in her dad's lap. Maybe it is the way I was brought up, but it really bothers me. I think that children should have respect and have some realism....I also think that a ten year old girl should not be laying all over her father. Am I just jealous or do any of you all feel the same way? I have such a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach when all that is going on. Any of you have gotten the Stepmonster book is this type of thing addressed in it anywhere?

When I was in high school
When I was in high school there was this girl I swam with that used to sit oh her dad's lap before the meets started or during breaks or whatever. It seriously weirded me out. I don't think the "laying on dad thing" is normal, but maybe that's just me.
I just leave the room when SS
I just leave the room when SS starts getting to me like that. It is just easier that way.
I can take about 5...maybe 10 minutes of SS non stop meaningless jabber, before I want to set my own face on fire and try to put it out with a fork. So, before it gets there, I have to make an exit.

OMG! i feel your pain.....
OMG! i feel your pain..... with 2 exceptions, skids aren't allowed in the kitchen, if they want something they ask and i get it... i would rip their arms off if they were in thte fridge 50 times....
they watch tv in their room, dh & i watch it in the living room... the climbing all over dh would send me into a tail spin.. fortunately it only happens when we are at mils and she insists sd climb all over dh like a jungle gym.
you are so right to have these feelings and no, a young girl should NOT be rolling around in her father's crotch!
My dd's are 8 and 12 and
My dd's are 8 and 12 and neither of them roll around on their dad. They do hug him and my 8 yo will sometimes lay in our big recliner next to him and watch tv. My ds, 11, hugs me and likes to lay next to me in the recliner. I'm cool with this because he is pretty small for his age and I know that it will not be long before he is too big and has no interest in hanging out with me.
My sd 12 is the same way.
My sd 12 is the same way. She eats every ten minutes but when it is time for a real meal she isnt hungry.
It drives my crazy!
All my sd needs is a whipping or a grounding. She is never been yelled at. She is a saint is her parents eyes and I wish they could only see that this is hurting her more than helping her.
Neither SD11 or SD8 roll all
Neither SD11 or SD8 roll all over their dad while watching tv but all of the skids are pretty affectionate with us.
The talking about stupid stuff though, SD11 does it constantly. The girl tells the dumbest most rambling on and on and meaningless stories ever. My dad came to visit this weekend and he loves hanging out with the skids. Well, we were all talking about something - you know having a conversation, SD decides to join in with one of her lengthy and boring monologues. A few minutes later I looked around from doing the dishes and SDs still going, my dad's reading the paper and DH was occupied with something else. And SD had absolutely no clue that no one had the least bit of interest in what she was saying. scheesh.
Thank you ladies for all your
Thank you ladies for all your great advice. A. Deville you struck on something I often thought..."young girls learn physical boundaries with males from their dad's or other significant men in their lives. She said it usually just comes natural for a parent to start telling the child " get down, your getting to heavy/big" by the time the child is 4 or 5 years old."
About 4-5 is when my BK stopped sitting in my lap. I was affectionate with my kids but there were boundaries. I just get an almost sick feeling in my stomach when I have to watch her wriggling around in his lap. I'm getting a weird feeling just writing this blog. I don't know why...I don't think my BF is a perv...I do think that this child is trying to show her dominance in his life and her jealousy towards me too. If there has ever been a situation where a guy always puts his kid first it is this one so I do not understand the jealousy on her part. He has told her many times that she is always number 1. I guess I don't understand. It is very frustrating.
My ss12 lays all over my dh.
My ss12 lays all over my dh. But I notice it is when our bios (4 &5) want to be near their daddy. It's a jealousy thing. As long as he is there, the kids can't be. As long as your sd is wih him then you can't be.
