SD took my heating pad to BMs
Grrrr tonight is not my night. Sorry for the random posts. Since SD had an earache last week, she was instructed to lay on a heating pad so I let her use mine. She started feeling better by Saturday night and refused to finish the amoxicillin and ear drops even though she was told to finish them to fight the infection.
Anyway, she took it to camp to use during reading/ naptime and now it's not here! Being the lazy, inconsiderate kid she is, it's either at camp or in her backpack at BMs. I text her because I'm looking for it and she won't answer.
My right SI joint is KILLING me, like I can't bend over or walk without a shooting pain. Obviously I can't get xrays right now. I know it's petty and she's "just a kid" but I need it. Thank goodness I invited my girlfriend and her husband over for creamy potato soup and she's bringing me hers. I got a massage on Friday and she worked on my glutes and low back the most and I felt great until yesterday. I'm not taking my dogs for their evening walk and tried stretching but it's so damn painful!

Try Ice too. It should help
Try Ice too. It should help calm the inflammation. I get it about the skid taking stuff that's needed. Avoiding you on purpose too. Brat!!
Ugh! I hate it when SD does
Ugh! I hate it when SD does that to our stuff too. She’s done it once and that time I bugged her about it until she brought it back. One of my big bath towels is missing and I suspect SD took it to a swim practice and just left it at BMs.
Antibiotics
People like her who do not finish the course of antibiotics are causing resistant strains. How old is SD? Couldn't her father have insisted she take them?
About the heating pad, yep that's very annoying, will you get it back. I learned never to let them have anything of mine, even for health reasons. They dont respect other people's property.
She is what? Eleven? Her
She is what? Eleven? Her parents are the ones responsible for making sure she takes ALL of her meds.
I hate to tell you this, but your own kid will do lazy, inconsiderate things, too. I know it's annoying, but it's part of life when there are kids in it, bio or step.
Sure, but at least I can rip
Sure, but at least I can rip my kid a new one and take away his birthday.
... she took it to camp to
A heating pad, unless yours is different, it has to be plugged in. Camps here wouldn't allow a child to plug in a heating pad without a doctor note of medical necessity.
Dad should have told her that finishing the medication was mandatory. Your BM may not care, but if I were BM and my ex let my child make this medical.decision, I would be furious.
How can dad allow her to not
How can dad allow her to not finish antibiotics and ear drops? That’s really unacceptable. That’s entirely dad’s fault.
And I can’t imagine any camps condoning heating pads being plugged in while napping. Is there even a plug next to the bed? If she took it without permission it’s bad but it’s equally bad if it was assumed she’d be just using it there at nap time.
these stories always baffle me. This dad fights firn50/50 custody yet has no idea how to parent. Why did he even bother?
SD was told by both dad and
SD was told by both dad and me that the meds needed to be finished no matter how she felt. She was told to continue taking them 3 times a day and take them to BMs. She didn't so they're still here. She was also told to take an undershirt for the see through white shirt BM bought her on Monday and I doubt she did that so her bra was probably showing after swimming.
This child refuses to listen and does everything last minute until she is forced to comply. I don't even care anymore. If she wants to be the stinky kid, so be it. I can barely walk today and no thanks to SD, I got another heating pad. DH claims she "needs" us 50% of the time but all our house is is a break from BM.
Right, but until she starts
Right, but until she starts listening and following directions, she needs DAD to be up her butt. He needs to make sure she is done as told and follow up with her rather than assuming she will just listen on her own.
If either of my skids took something of mine to BM's my DH would be driving there to retrieve it ASAP.
He just expects his angel
He just expects his angel princess will comply because she's been told but he KNOWS she is a procrastinator and usually I'm the one to tell him to get on her butt because he doesn't notice or forgets or SOMETHING.
SD finally texted me back and said "we can bring it in a few" but I told her to forget it and make sure it gets here Monday when she comes back. I don't want BM to come anywhere near my home if she doesn't have to and thinking she's doing me a favor.
