OT EIC increase

I love dogs's picture

I caught the tail end of a radio announcement on the way to work this morning. I heard that the earned income credit is increasing from $1600 to $2000. I couldn't help but to think of BM. Her #1 concern in the custody hearings was that she and only she gets the EIC.

That means that she at least has a job unlike some BMs on this site but still. DH wanted SD 50% (not for EIC reasons) and BM made sure he didn't. BM also isn't married to her baby's dad and never will because she needs to play single mom on paper to get her benefits.

I was also thinking how I cringe when I hear BM's name. Her name is very common and my stomach turns every time I hear it.

Our BM has a common name too... It really makes you rethink how you view that name. lol

I totally get that ! When I hear either BM or SD's name I cringe and feel ill. Its some sort of PTSD (not meaning to minimize this condition, but feels like it!)

I cringe, too, Dovina!! BioHo's name is almost identical to my sister's is SD24 has the same name as my nephew's SD.

To this day I still can't refer to SD by her name, I call her spawn and her mom meth whore, will always be just that. It always surprises me when somebody says their actual name, I always have to stop and think who are they talking about.

I'm always worried that I will accidently call SD by my nickname for her. That would not be pretty. Biggrin

I have the same nickname for both SDs. The only difference is their age at the end... }:)

lol, was Christmas shopping for the skids and saw some doll with her name even and turned on my heels. Oh the joys of the unpleasant people. I went to the pound and a dog had her name, I pitied the dog, I LOVE dogs, and I was just like "well I can't ever adopt that one....." There was another dog there with a former stalker's name... Same affect.

BM will probably try to claim it. *eye rill* has she ever funded anything for the Skids? Nope! But considering she claims themnfor food stamps... lol

Have you tried reporting her if you think she isn't reporting CS or that she doesn't have skids full time? Or would it be a waste of time?

Her SM tried, they pulled the "can't technically prove it card" and went their merry way. So someone has tried, it just flopped, so it feels like wasted breathe a bit now.

I've heard that a lot so I've never tried reporting BM either. Plus she'd probably assume it was us (me) anyway and freak the F out on DH. I'm sure the state knows that there's too much fraud to be investigated.

Best hope is if she tries and claims the Skids for EIC maybe I can report it lol. My great uncle has been part of the IRS his whole career. Maybe he'll get an actual investigation rolling.

Total wishful thinking, but a girl can dream. lmao

You're talking the GOP proposed tax plan for Child tax credit, not earned income credit with those figures.

Child tax credit is currently $1,000, Senate GOP proposal was going $1,600, but to encourage some holdouts to vote now at $2,000.

The child tax credit is very different than the earned income credit (EIC).

If BM has custody , it fairly normal that she would claim the kids and take the child tax credit. However, some NCPs do claim the child on alternate years (using form 8232 with BMs signature).
