A new day... a new uuuuggghhhh!!!!
I am glad to say that today was better. I think she woke up in a better mood, but I think my SD may be on the Autism spectrum. I have made this comment to my husband, but he says that since I am a psychologist/social worker (veterans, not children), I am specifically looking for things and I am not looking a the whole picture. I know that she is ADD, but I think she may on the spectrum.
The reasons why I think she may be...
1.) She cannot look at people in the eye.
2.) She cannot seem to let something go when it is already in her mind, i.e., if she starts a story she will freak if she cannot finish it.
3.) Loud noises freak her out. She is always covering her ears when BS screams or whines.
4.) She gets along better with toddler or much younger children. She doesn't know hot ot relate to children her own age.
I don't know, DH may be right but I would like to have her checked out anyway. The good news for today... We got along. I was not as frustrated with her as I usually am. I think that being able to vent helps me and I don't feel as resentful towards her as I used to. Thank you all, I appreciate the help and advice!

Are you sure there was no
Are you sure there was no crack used when the BM was pregnant? I am not an expert or anything but I knew a foster child who was a crack baby and had the same issues... parents dont want to admit that something could be wrong and of course you being a step parent they just figure you are over critical of her...
Some of these issues can also
Some of these issues can also come from the neglect that she has suffered while at her BM's. I'd definately say go for testing though. My SS8 was diagnosed with PDD (NOS) when he was 6...it took alot of battling with my SO before he finally agreed to have him tested. The sad part is that the younger work is started with the kids, the better the outlook.
My SS went to occupational therapy, play therapy & also goes to counseling. The play therapy helped tremendously as it was in a group setting. It helped him learn how to relate to kids his own age a bit better...he's a constant work in progress though, bless his heart.
Good luck with getting your DH into the testing idea
Yup! Yup! Yup! Sounds like
Yup! Yup! Yup! Sounds like she's on the spectrum alright!!! My kiddo is too and has all those signs. By the way, about looking at people in the eye, there's some interesting studies about that...my kiddo can look at me in the eye, he cannot look at everyone in the eye...hmmm...They are VERY sensitive...
