Tax Return Update

frustratedstepdad's picture

So you guys remember how I told you that SD22 was going to claim her kid on her taxes this year instead of DW and I? And how SD22 told us she would get back around $3000 after she filed? Well DW helped her start her tax return last night. Guess how much she will get back if she files? She would get back $275, state and federal combined! LMAO!

So of course since she was thinking she would be getting a big tax refund, she has been out spending like crazy with her student loan refund. She's bought new pairs of shoes, new $150 jeans, and also got a big tattoo on her back while she spent the weekend partying up in Seattle. I've told DW that I don't care if she has NO MONEY to her name, by April 1st she needs to be moved out.

On the bright side, I am going to file an amended tax return to claim the grandkid and SD22, which will almost double the refund amount for DW and I. SD22 better start shaking her ass extra hard at the strip club from now till the end of March! Smile

Boobies! LOL

Nope. Nope. Nope. Under NO circumstance will SD22 be living with us after April 1st. Not going to happen, and DW is 100% on board with this. Of course our grandson will not have to live on the street, he can stay with us if necessary, which wouldn't make much of a difference since we are the ones taking care of him anyway. But we will also make SD22 sign over temporary guardianship if this happens. And if SD22 leaves him with us for too long, we will take her to court for child abandonment and try to get custody.

Trust me, SD22 WILL NOT be living with us in 7/8 more weeks.

sounds like BM..... her money is always burning a hole in her pocket before she even gets it. Her tax money is blown the very second it gets deposited in her account because she A. owes 12 people money that she borrowed from over the past year with the promise that "she would pay it back when she got her taxes" B. she went and bought stupid shit she didn't need because she knew she was getting tax money.

Don't think the woman knows what a savings account is, doesn't seem to care about retirement or her son (SS12.5) going to college etc. She's alot worse off than your SD in that BM is almost 38 years old, pretty pathetic place to be at that age. But I guess if you keep your expecations low, then you don't care about silly things like college, retirement, and savings accounts.

BAHAHAHA! Karma. Anyway, I agree with the others, I do not believe your wife will make her leave, and for that I am sorry.

Unfortunately I agree with the other posters that there is no way DW will make her move out. How is she only getting back $275 though? I would think the child tax credit alone would put her above that. Unless of course your DW is adding in ALL her income including non-taxed tips.

She cant claim the child tax credit until she is 25. I learned this the hard way. In fact there are many deductions that you aren't entitled to until you are 25.

This is not correct information, my daughter 20 was able to claim it for her son. When she tried to file with the free tax software it told her the same thing, I sent her to an accountant, Yes it cost her 125 to have an accountant do it but she was able to claim her son.

Well I sure as hell am NOT telling SD22 to go see an accountant }:)

If she actually took care of him this year I'd be more sympathetic to her. But being that DW and I both have been sacrificing taking care of the grandson, I could care less about her not getting money.

I'm filing an amended tax return and with the extra refund we'll be getting a big screen tv and also getting the inside of the house painted after she leaves. Think of it as a "pain and suffering" payment. LOL

Oh I don't blame you one bit, was just pointing out that what was posted wasn't 100 percent true incase anyone else NEEDS that info

frustratedstepdad's picture

Well she only grossed $700 in her "real" job and they hardly took out any tax at all, that's why.

frustratedstepdad's picture

Now she's only claiming seven hundred dollars in income, that's why she's not getting squat for a refund.

For those saying DW won't make her move out, for the first time DW is fully on board and she's tired of SD22 being there too. Barring SD22 coming down with some deathly illness, she will be moving out. It won't even be up for debate this time.

stormabruin's picture

I pray for the sake of your sanity she doesn't break when the time comes. It really is the best thing she can do for her daughter, which will in turn benefit her grandchild.

For your sake I hope DW does follow through in April. For the rest of us, we anticipate what your blog will say in April. Smile Good luck.

No way in hell will she be here after April. No way. Not unless she has some deadly affliction.
