Underage drinking on the job

Elizabeth's picture

Oh, I am so tempted to turn SD20 in, if I thought it would do ANY good. DH told SD20 (then 19) that if he "caught her" drinking, he was going to stop funding her college. As if. First of all, he'd never actually DO it, and second of all I told him I have photo proof and he refuses to look at it. Third of all, he'll never catch her because she's five hours away. So whatever, empty threats.

But I'm pretty sure the company that employs her would get in a buttload of trouble if an underage employee was found drinking on the clock. She's bragging about it, people know where she works. Not hard to put two and two together.

Problem is, she never really does seem to hang herself. She's been drinking since she was 13, at friends' houses while their parents were gone. She got caught drinking at a party at 17 and got off with a ticket, which DH paid. She's got an older boyfriend who supplies her with alcohol and she uses him to get alcohol for her other underage friends. She's been fired from this job before (don't know why) but got rehired. And now she's drinking on the clock at age 20. She just keeps skating along, and in my opinion she has a serious alcohol problem. Oh well, maybe she'll turn into a raging alcoholic and DH can fund her addiction for another 20 or 30 years. Sad

Yes, I'm sure she's driving herself home. I'm also pretty sure the cops aren't going to catch her (she's lucky that way). That's why I was saying maybe her employer should know, but if you think they already do... Nobody will do anything until she kills or seriously injures someone, I guess.
