Please allow me to be a little petty

I have a REALLY hard time with SD19 having everything her little heart desires when I sure do not.

I have only gotten two pedicures and one manicure in my life. I only get my hair cut twice a year and never get it colored or styled. I don't get facials or massages. All of these things cost money I either cannot spend or just don't have time to do.

Yet here's SD19 with acrylic nails on her fingers, getting a full-body chiropractic adjustment, going tanning, getting a pedicure, getting her hair cut and styled, drinking LOTS of expensive alcohol, spending weekends away with her boyfriend at a hotel. She was the first person in our entire family to get a Blackberry and then an iPhone. She has a $400 watch.

I am jealous. I don't see how a "poor" college kid should be able to afford these things. I sure couldn't at that stage in my life. Oh, she's also too lazy to walk more than 50 feet so she parks illegally and posted a picture holding EIGHT parking tickets. At $25 each, that's $200 wasted on her laziness.

I don't want to be SD19 (NEVER), but I sure would like to be able to splurge on myself ALL THE TIME.

I love ya to death but aren’t you the one paying for all of those things for the woman? Girl…I do not know how you stand to do what you are doing. And allowing your DH to do it to you. UGH..sorry. Just makes me mad for you.

If you would tell your husband NO and make it impossible for him to get his hands on YOUR money, your SD would not have money to pay for all of that stuff.

You have the power to end this.

Elizabeth, does sd work? She should be paying for this stuff. I'm sure she complains that her BFs BMs don't spend cs on the kids. What a shame that she won't spend the money SHE is given on going to school, gas money to transport herself to places to fill out job applications, etc. Maybe someone should tell her that she is just like those BMs }:) Seriously, she's a bm in the making!

The BF may not be paying CS. He may have the type if BMs who are quick to say they don't need a man to support their kids. However, they are the first ones in line begging for WIC, foodstamps, medicaid...

My DH would spend a fortune on SS27 if I let him have access to my money. I threatened to pull his charge card (and he knew I was dead serious) if he ever spent money on SS again.

I do not mind sharing with DH at all - but not one thin dime on stepshit.

Maybe it's a good thing that I had a quickie civil marriage - We just paid some money and signed some forms. It is a legal marriage but I did not make any vow to stay thru hideous behavior.

Eliz - you could stop this in 5 seconds if you wanted to. So either stop it or stop complaining. You are standing out in a rain storm (except in your case you are getting pissed on) and are complaining that you are wet. Please take care of yourself.
