Sad story for animal lovers...I know there is lots of you out there.

My son, 25 and his girlfriend of almost 10 years have been blessed with a 2 of the cutest, mostly well-behaved(slightly mischievious) bunnies.  They are best friends aka 'baby bunny cuddle buddies'.  They are about 6 months apart and the older of the 2 has had health problems lately.  There was something wrong with his leg but doctors couldn't figure out what is wrong. He seemed better but a couple days later he had a seizure which caused the leg thing to come back.  He must have had another seizure last night because today, neither of his legs worked and he just kept falling over.  They have to put him down today.  I've never had to put an animal down, I cant imagine what it will be like to take that sweet bunny out of the arms of my grieving future daughter in law.  My son will be sad too but she is the bunny mama.  This is my son who had the car accident and was out of work for months due to his injuries so financially I feel like he is just catching up.  I don't know if money would help this bunny.  I offered my credit card but I am also trying to save up to get out of Skidhell.  I would hate for them to have to put him down because they can't afford treatment. I just wanted to put the option of giving them money to help pay.  Being a neurological issue, my son said last week that they didn't think there was much they could do.  I guess there are not a lot of bunny neurologists out there.

Problem #2  The other bunny will be beside himself with out his bunny best friend.  I think he will die too without getting him a new friend...as my son calls it 'the endless cycle of bunnies.'  I feel horrible.  My heart was already in a fragile state due to my marriage falling apart.  My heart is just broken now.

Awww poor bunnies. They should get another one. Putting animals down is always hard. One of our dogs had to have one of her back legs amputed in October. She had a cancerous tumor and it was spreading like crazy and it was our only option. I had to drop her off at the vet that morning. I was ok with it because I knew she would be fine. Once I got into the reception area I started crying. They let me walk her back to the kennels because it's almost possible for them too. (She's an American bull boxer) All the vets were like it will be ok! And I just kept crying because I felt horrible. It was awful. Pets are family. More so then our actual ones!

Im having a bad bunny month!!  We lost a litter of bunnies that we were trying to care ofr when their little home flooded in the rain.  When the mama came back, we let them be and let nature take its course but we regret that choice in the morning when we found all 6 had died on the lawn.  DH found them and buried them before I saw them.  He said I would have flipped, he said it was awful to find them like that.

My pets have never needed money for car insurance, tuition or bail.  I am sorry for the bunnies.  Sometimes it is hard to let nature take its course.
