Open mouth and insert foot.
So this labour day weekend was great, no SD and nothing to do but relax. So since DH and I were going out of town for the day (was suppose to be for the night), we put our (my) dog in a kennel. It was only suppose to be for the night, but because they are not open on stat holidays, it was for a couple of nights. Anyways on Monday DH and I were sitting on the couch watching t.v. when I made the comment that something didn't feel right, something was missing. I of course was talking about my dog. DH replies with "yeah, SD isn't home." Without thinking I replied "no, that isn't it, I mean the dog." :jawdrop: Needless to say the look on his face was not that happy. So I did the only thing I could, I back peddled. I told him that SD goes away almost every second weekend with her BM and our dog is always at home with us, and it was just wierd without him. What can I say freudian slip I guess.

LOL. But I have a question. Why would some of these men be "not happy" just because we miss our dog, or whatever?
It should not ALWAYS be about the skids.

I had a moment this weekend too…
We cooked a GIANT thanksgiving dinner Sunday night (I know it was Labor Day weekend, but what the hell… the meal is inexpensive and lasts for DAYS! Besides… I was in the mood for my momma’s stuffin!) and SS6 pouted and pushed the food I worked almost 10 hard hours to prepare all around his dish till his father got sick of it and sent him to bed.
3 hours later guess who’s up rubbing his eyes and pouting for a bowl of cereal…
My DH gives in and wraps him in a blanket (like he’s 2) and puts him at the table with a big bowl of his favorite processed sugar slop. And even though the kid got his way he was still sitting with this f-the world expression on his face.
So DH, lovingly gazing in the kitchen… turns to me and says…
“Will you look at our boy…”
To which I replied… “Yeah, I’ve never seen a more miserable child in my entire life.”
Didn’t go over very well…
So DH, lovingly gazing in the

He’s trying to create a “bond” with me and the kids by always insisting that I use the term “OUR” when talking about them… I never do it… but he keeps trying to get me in the habbit…

That is funny!! The other day we were running late somewhere which frustrates me. I made a comment about being a mom to 3 kids and dh corrected me...4 kids. 'even worse' was my reply. He didn't like that.

LOL!! Dh made the comment to me one day last winter after i brought to his attention how intelligent his son was for being in the snow with only a sweatshirt on - no coat.....DH said that raising him is half part of my duty and reflection on me - i said the hell it is - you had him, you claim him on your taxes....not me!!! you can't teach old dogs new tricks and there is no way in hell i can reverse the bad training that kid has had.
i don't remember that going over well either.....
