SS13 And His Attitude Toward Women

BettyRay's picture

At conferences last week SS13's female teacher made a point of informing BM and DH that SS13 is disrespectful and rude to her and his other female teachers. SS13's male teacher said that SS13 was respectful and polite in his class. BM then chimed in that that's how SS13 treats her at home too.

Now I wasn't at conference but when I heard about this I was furious. SS13 was rude and disrespectful to me back when school started last fall. I nipped it in the bud (DH also backed me up too) and haven't had a problem since.

I have a plan to curb SS13's atittude problem. DH and I talked it over and DH thinks it's a great idea. So last night I spoke with SS13, DH was present too. My tone was matter of fact and I was very calm. I told SS13 the following:

ME: "SS13 I heard that your female teachers reported that you are disrespectful to them. I'm disappointed to hear this, since you're not that way around me. So from now on if I hear from your teachers that you are being disrespectful I will take a couple of days off of work and escort you around school to ensure that you are polite and respectful to all your teachers, not just the male ones. Do you understand?"

SS13: "Yes." *SS13 then looked at DH who nodded in agreement.*

ME: "Oh and your dad and I let your teacher know that I will to go to school with you if you are disrespectful. So everyone is one the same page. Do you understand?"

SS13: "Yes."

I'll keep you posted Dirol

>>He'll be a prize for the woman who manages to snap him up in the future!<<
I've said this to DH many times regarding the boys.

I honesty believe that SS13 acts this way with BM because BM wants the boys to think of her as their friend. She's not interested in parenting them at all.

It was awesome. The look of shock was incredible. And then when SS13 looked to DH for back up and DH backed me up instead. SS13 was totally dazed.

Love it! We actually had a mom at one of our high schools who asked permission to sit in on her son's classes, because he was acting the fool. The principal thought it was a great idea so said sure!... except it turns out mom was a bit of a nutter and rather than just being a "presence" was actually raising her hand and asking the teachers questions etc. The teachers got pissed and told the principal no more! lol

And I guess that sort of answered the question as to why the kid was such a troublemaker!

I have found that is generally how it works! If the kid acts the fool, there is most likely a parent at home who acts the fool... one big, happy, act the fool family!

When I was in 7th grade a trouble maker's Dad shadowed him all week. This kid was mortified and never acted crazy in class after that.

I would never interrupt class, that's just wrong.
