So dh filled me in on what started the day after thanksgiving. The student loan provider contacted him as he is a cosigner on one of his estranged daughter 's numerous college loans. Advised him that the first payment check bounced! He called her mon, tues and today....and texted her as well. Silence. No surprise. So he called her sister, no answer, and texted her. These two and his ex are enmeshed. She texted him asking why he was calling, he advised her of the importance of reaching sister, and her nasty response was to blast him for telling her, and then to say that it was unreasonable to expect a callback since they had been in florida last week visiting mommy dearest!
The loan is roughly 5k, he paid out well over 40 k cash for her 4 years of failure at a private college. Her mother cosigned 40 k instead of paying as she should have.
So, it seems to me that this chick owes 80 k loans, all coming due now, and she can't even pay the first month. Her mother is a survivor, and if she has her name on these loans, they will get the money.
How? Daughter has a well to do boyfriend........I hear wedding bells in the year, along with the patter little feet. That is how the female members of ex's family operate.....they get pregnant by decent unsuspecting guys.
My advice to dh is to pay the first few months payment and see where this goes. He wants to give her a month and if not paid, pay the whole amount.
Seriously, I advised him tonight to be wary......he still has to carry life insur policy as youngest daughter still on his payroll.
People have been knocked off for less than 80 k
So she bounces check on first payment and then refuses to discuss with him. She is not a kid.....she is 26 years old. Dh will never wake up with the reality of how much he is hated by his very cruel daughters.
